MY STORY

Hello and welcome to my site! My name is Samantha Cascone and I am the proud owner of Mommy's Little CupCakes. In Mid 2009, I decided to attend The French Culinary Institute in New York City, NY (Now known as The International Culinary Center) and completed my degree in Pastry Arts. When I was younger, I was always doing artistic projects and had the most fun when I was being creative. I also have a lot of fond memories baking with my Aunt in her kitchen. I honestly believe she helped inspire my love for baking and decorating, which helped me choose the career path I have chosen today.
After school, I worked as a pastry chef for major hotels like The Hilton Bonnet Creek,The Waldorf Astoria at Walt Disney World, Florida and also for The Lowes Royal Pacific Resort at Universal Studios, Florida. I was also a cake decorator for major supermarket chain bakeries like Super Target and Publix. In 2014, after my daughter had been born, I worked for a major wholesale and retail bakery in Tarpon Springs, Florida named Hellas Bakery and Pita Co. As you can see, I am well rounded in pastry arts as well as cake decorating and have well over 10 years of experience.
In 2012, while working for The Loews Royal Pacific Resort, I decided to take a chance and entered the ACF (American Culinary Federation) student cake competition. I was very nervous about it because I didn't feel like I had enough experience yet and I had never done a competition before. My executive pastry chef, at the time, gave me some really good advice I will never forget. "If you don't try, you'll never know what you can accomplish. Even when you feel like you have enough experience, there is always more you can learn or a new technique you can learn. Whether you get 1st place or not, think about the experience you can gain and all that you can learn from participating." So I did it and took home 4th place! I had a lot of trouble and made some major mistakes in my design, but I did learn a lot from the experience and will always be thankful for it.
The name Mommy's Little CupCakes was inspired by my two children. When I had my first child, I decided to take a break from work to stay home with her. When I got pregnant with my second child, I became a full time stay at home mom. But I never stopped baking and making creations for family and friends and I was yearning to continue my passions and dreams while still being able to be there for my children. That's when Mommy's Little Cupcakes was created. My business is currently being run from within my home, but the dream is to expand into a store front one day.
I am currently taking orders for all types of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and so much more. Pickup and Delivery is currently available ONLY for New York & New Jersey Residents.
